The Role


The Momentum Freight Transport team has over a decade experience in providing freight solutions that are crafted for the efficient and dependable global transportation of goods. Our dedicated team is committed to ensuring the swift and secure delivery of our client’s cargo while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.


The Freight Transport team is looking for a FREIGHT FORWARDING COORDINATOR.


The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role within the freight

forwarding/3PL industry.


Job Description

• Control all documents associated with orders – (Waybills/BOL, invoices and packing lists).

• Prepare, classify, and distribute billing papers for delivery partners and ensure accurate billing by checking invoices generated by the system.

• Provide quotations and issue invoices to clients and agents.

• Monitor shipments closely to meet deadlines and avoid delays – tracking rail, vessel and airline activities and communicating with all stakeholders.

• Facilitate all aspects of cargo importation until goods are successfully delivered to clients – cargo release from ports, warehouses and customs.

• Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with our clients, vendors, and Momentum team members.

• Maintain profitability of accounts and identify opportunities to increase profit by negotiating with vendors and agents.

• Responsible for on-time shipments as prioritized by the customer.

• Ensure daily workload is executed well.

• Adhere to established company protocol for documentation and record-keeping.

• Additional Adhoc requests as needed.

• Availability to work on period weekends as team members rotate through a weekend "on call" schedule.


Qualifications

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace is a must

• Previous experience of freight forwarding/logistics - handling FCL or LCL - is a must

• Previous experience in air/ocean freight logistics is a must

• Previous experience in customs clearance is a plus

• Highly motivated and detail-oriented team player with strong communication skills and customer service skills

• Quick learner; ability to adapt and thrive under pressure

• Innovative problem solving and negotiation skills – the ability to work well under pressure and source solutions quickly

• Must have a high attention to detail

• Must have proficient verbal and written communication skills in English

• Committed to professionalism, honesty, accountability, respect and ethical conduct.


Flexible Language Requirement

• Ability to speak fluent French is a plus
