About the Role

We are seeking a Design-Build Project Coordinator to support the management and execution of industrial design-build projects. This role involves assisting with scheduling, permitting, trade coordination, procurement, and construction execution while ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

This is a junior to mid-level role, ideal for candidates with some experience in design-build or construction, as well as those looking to grow their careers in industrial project coordination. A diploma in Architectural and Building Technology from BCIT (or equivalent) is preferred, along with proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and Word.


Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Execution

• Assist in managing multiple industrial design-build projects from pre-construction to completion.

• Support scheduling, permitting, procurement, and trade coordination.

• Monitor project progress, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

• Identify potential risks and assist in troubleshooting construction challenges.

Client & Stakeholder Communication

• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.

• Participate in project meetings, prepare progress updates, and document project changes.

• Assist in managing client expectations and resolving project-related inquiries.

Financial & Budget Support

• Assist with project budgeting, cost tracking, and financial documentation.

• Support in reviewing and processing change orders, invoices, and progress billings.

• Work with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement.

Trade & Site Coordination

• Collaborate with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and subcontractors for smooth execution.

• Support trade coordination and ensure subcontractors meet scope, quality, and timeline expectations.

• Conduct on-site visits to monitor progress and assist in resolving construction issues.


Qualifications

✔️ Education: Diploma in Architectural and Building Technology from BCIT (or a similar program) preferred.

✔️ Experience: 1-3 years of experience in design-build, construction, or project coordination is an asset.

✔️ Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industrial construction, permitting, and trade coordination is a plus.

✔️ Software Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and Word is required.

✔️ Certifications: PMP or Gold Seal Certification is an asset but not required.

Technical & Interpersonal Skills

• Basic understanding of construction budgeting, cost control, and scheduling.

• Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.

• Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and construction best practices.

Compensation & Location

This is a full-time position that is

available for immediate hire. A meaningful compensation package will be

developed for the successful candidate that will include a base salary,

performance bonus, PTO, and comprehensive benefits.
