Reporting to the Production and Technology General Manager, you will be knowledgeable about wood construction, building codes and job site safety with strong interpersonal skills enabling you to create good working partnerships with trades, subcontractors, engineers, architects, developers, and owners.
- **Working as part of a team of fully trained and experienced designers, engineers, sales and production staff your day-to-day responsibilities will include**:_
- Responsible for overall management of company assigned construction sites, including project initiation, scheduling, budgeting, quality assurance to finishing, and project closeout
- Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules
- Hire and supervise the activities of subcontractors
- Provide layout and direction for all new builds to framing subcontractors
- In collaboration with the CSO, implement safety control methods on sites, always ensure site safety and compliance with WorkSafe regulations
- Develop quality assurance standards, ensure project is completed within schedule and with high quality
- Responsible for all jobsite related purchasing including building materials, sub-trades etc., ensure spending are responsible and within budget
- Inspect projects for level of completion and prepare project progression reports of company and stakeholders
- Collaborate with subcontractors, engineers, architects, customers, subtrades and key team members of the project
- **To fully qualify for and be successful in this position you must have**:_
- Proven experience of 2-5 years in a leadership role within the construction manufacturing industry
- Must have a good working knowledge of prefab framing and framing techniques
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Self-motivated, organized, and possess strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Enthusiastic, positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with relevant safety standards and risk reduction best practices
- Direct experience working with North American building code requirements - preferably in a production capacity
- Full understanding of architectural blueprints/drawings
- Ability to view, manipulate, organize, and annotate internally prepared project drawings using standard industry design/engineering software such as Mitek or similar.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite to at least an intermediate level.
- Courses in or completion of Construction Project Management is an asset
- Capacity to schedule/run multiple projects on time and on budget.
- Ability to coordinate and work effectively in a team setting with all levels of employees, trades, contractors, engineers, architects, developers, and owners to achieve results
