Job Overview:

Work with CG Asset Supervisor and Art Director to model and texture props, characters, and environments for a whimsical and charming preschool animated series. Work with Art Director and CG Asset Supervisor to match the stylized look and feel and ensure all aspects of the project have a cohesive look and feel.


Location:

Remote, Canada


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create models for props, characters, and environments in Maya for an Unreal Engine project
  • Create Unreal materials and shaders from textures based on concept art, reference, and creative direction
  • When applicable, create simple rigs for more complex props
  • Attend asset reviews and address notes and feedback from creative teams
  • Maintain regular communication with Asset Supervisor, communicating progress updates


Applicants must have:

  • A sense of whimsy and a keen interest in creating delightful CG art
  • 3 years of experience in the Animation or Games Industry
  • Experience with using Maya or Blender to create high-quality, functional models
  • Experience creating textures and a good understanding of UV mapping techniques using Substance Painter or similar software


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of Perforce, or similar software, for asset management
  • Basic understanding of Unreal’s Blueprint system
  • Basic understanding of Unreal’s Lumen renderer and its caveats with shading

Salary Range:
