Lead Technical Artist

Certain Affinity, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Technical Artist to join our team. As a key member of our art team, you will be responsible for driving the technical art pipeline and tools discussion, collaborating with other technical artists, and ensuring the highest quality of art assets.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the art team to develop and maintain high-quality art assets.
  • Drive the technical art pipeline and tools discussion to ensure efficient and effective art creation.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of art pipelines and their impact on real-time performance.
  • Work closely with other senior members in various disciplines to ensure seamless collaboration and communication.
  • Identify and address technical issues early on to ensure timely resolution and minimal impact on project timelines.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of experience in the game industry, specifically supporting art teams on game projects.
  • Expertise with Unreal Engine 5+, Nanite & Lumen, DCC apps, and tools.
  • Experience establishing and driving new workflows for content creation.
  • Shipped 2+ titles as a technical artist.
  • Experience mentoring other technical artists.
  • Strong foundation of Python scripting for extending content creation tools and automating tasks.
Preferred Skills:
  • Solid understanding of the aesthetics of the environment, function vs. form relationships, and what makes a game level fun and engaging.
  • Excellent communication skills to easily collaborate with art, design, and engineering teams.
  • Expert-level knowledge of MAX, Maya, or other 3D software packages.
  • Solid grasp of performance requirements and constraints of current generation console and PC development.
