We are actively seeking an Interim Senior Director of Growth to join our retail client's team for a 2-month contract. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Interim Senior Director of Growth will spearhead customer acquisition, engagement, and retention initiatives across all digital channels. This role involves building and leading a high-performing team, crafting data-driven campaigns, and optimizing performance marketing strategies to achieve sustainable growth. With extensive experience in B2C marketing and a passion for scaling customer-centric programs, you will develop and execute innovative growth initiatives across paid media, organic channels, and lifecycle marketing.


This is a fully remote opportunity for a candidate based in Canada.


Responsibilities

  • Strategic Growth Marketing: Develop and implement a comprehensive growth marketing strategy to drive customer acquisition, website traffic, sales, and retention.
  • Collaboration with eCommerce: Partner with the eCommerce team to meet and exceed traffic, conversion, and sales targets.
  • Channel Optimization: Identify and prioritize opportunities across digital channels, including paid media, email/SMS, social media, affiliate/influencer marketing, and SEO.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Utilize A/B testing, customer analytics, and advanced attribution models to optimize campaigns and budgets while maximizing ROI.
  • Performance Marketing Leadership: Oversee PPC, display, retargeting, paid social, and mobile campaigns, focusing on achieving optimal CAC and LTV ratios.
  • Content and Lifecycle Marketing: Manage the digital content calendar to align with brand campaigns and key retail moments. Develop personalized email and SMS campaigns to nurture leads and boost retention.
  • Loyalty and CRM Initiatives: Design and implement loyalty programs and omni-channel CRM strategies to enhance customer loyalty and lifetime value.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and lead a marketing team, fostering innovation, accountability, and results-oriented performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Product, Creative, and Analytics teams to ensure alignment with company-wide goals.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Define, monitor, and report on key growth metrics, providing actionable insights to executive leadership.
  • Budget Management: Lead the creation and management of the annual digital budget, setting KPI targets and allocating spend across paid media channels.
  • Innovation and Experimentation: Foster a test-and-learn culture, identifying new growth channels and staying ahead of industry trends to drive forward-thinking strategies.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in growth or digital marketing, with 3+ years in a leadership role within a B2C organization.
  • Expertise in digital marketing platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads), CRM systems, analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics), and marketing automation platforms.
  • Proven track record in optimizing CAC, LTV, and ROAS with a data-driven approach.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present insights to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Hands-on approach with a willingness to engage in both strategic and tactical work.
  • Experience in high-growth B2C environments.
  • Expertise in SEO, content marketing, and retention strategies.
  • Familiarity with both Canadian and U.S. markets is a plus.
