Civil/Structural Manager


Location: Canada (preference for British Columbia or Alberta)


Position Overview:


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil/Structural Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) designation in either British Columbia, Alberta, or the USA, along with a proven track record of leadership in a managerial capacity. This individual will oversee and manage civil and structural engineering projects, ensuring their successful completion while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage a team of civil and structural engineers, designers, and support staff.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout all phases of project development, from conceptual design to construction completion.
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and expectations.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and ensure adherence to timelines and financial targets.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and evaluations to monitor project progress and identify potential issues or risks.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and project requirements.
  • Implement and enforce quality control and assurance measures to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, creativity, and professional growth.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for client communications, addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely and effective manner.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements to enhance the company's competitiveness and capabilities.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in British Columbia, Alberta, or the USA is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role within the engineering industry.
  • At least 10 years of experience in Mining, Heavy Industrial, Energy, etc (last 2+ years has to be within Heavy Industrial (Non Oilsands)
  • Proven background within structural engineer, civil engineer, or project engineer/manager, with a demonstrated track record of successfully managing projects valued at $25 million or higher in Canada.
  • Strong technical proficiency in civil and structural engineering principles, practices, and software applications.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, make sound decisions, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
