My client, a well-known leader in their industry who are based in Toronto, are currently looking to hire a full-time Manager Accounting (hybrid). Reporting to the Director of Accounting you will be primarily responsible for the financial reporting and analysis of monthly and quarterly results for 2 of their main revenue streams. You will manage four direct reports and work closely with the FP&A team members, with the opportunity to get exposure to senior leadership within finance as well as the operating business.


Other responsibilities include:

  • Manage the day-to-day accounting and closing the books for various departments.
  • Prepare analysis and commentary for the monthly and quarterly internal financial reporting packages presented to senior management
  • Manage general accounting duties, including the review and approval of monthly journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations
  • On a monthly, quarterly and annual basis assist with the annual audit of the consolidated financial statements and League Reporting reports and audits for all teams
  • Review and approve the preparation of variance analysis comparing actual results to plan and forecast for inclusion within ownership presentations

Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience and preferably experience managing individuals
  • A post graduate degree or diploma preferably in Business Administration, Finance or Commerce
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or nearing completion of the designation is a must
  • Able to build and lead effectively with a focus on coaching and growing the skills of the individuals on your team
  • Technical accounting knowledge in IFRS, including IFRS 15
  • Ability to analyze and interpret various data and develop logical solutions
  • Experience in MS Office and strong proficiency with Excel, VBA
