The opportunity:

We are currently seeking a focused, detail-oriented individual with strong administrative, and accounting skills. This is a hands-on role responsible for supporting our team as they deliver a variety of services to our clients.


Duties:

To provide Accounting support for diverse accounting functions and multiple clients, including but not limited to:

Ø Provide general accounting duties for multiple client accounts including, full-cycle management, in production of monthly unaudited statements, production of year-end financials for each account in preparation for audit by outside auditors

Ø Ability to work with remote access database-driven websites for different clients

Ø Liaison with client Treasurers, Financial Committees, etc. to answer queries as required

Ø Liaison with bank staff as required

Ø Perform on-line banking transactions

Ø Initiate and oversee international transfers of funds, including into other currencies

Ø Assist in management of investment accounts

Ø Cooperate as part of a small team of two financial / book-keeping staff

Ø General administrative accounting activities


To fulfill general office administration functions.

Ø Ordering office supplies

Ø Monitoring contracts for office equipment

Ø Ensuring office equipment is functioning.

Ø Calling service technicians as required


Qualifications:

Ø Minimum 3 years accounting experience

Ø Familiarity with CRA and Canadian standards

Ø Familiarity with the not-for-profit sector

Ø Advanced knowledge of most recent version of QuickBooks

Ø Proficiency with Word, Excel, Database Management Systems and Outlook Suite

Ø Proficiency with on-line banking, on-line commerce and transactions

Ø Ability to manage multiple accounts and sets of books

Ø Post-secondary education in accounting or finance.  Working towards CPA qualification or equivalent required.

Ø Excellent spoken and written English

Ø Unflappable multi-tasker

Ø References required
