Hays has partnered with a developer in the Greater Toronto Area who has developed large condominium projects across Canada and in other parts of the world.
Your new role
The open role is for a Senior Project Director (High-Rise Condominium) reporting to the Executive Group of our client. This individual will prepare the initial version of the construction plan and have the capability to discuss and refine the plan with subcontractors, ensuring it is reliable and competitive. They will assess site conditions, identify key issues and ensure that team members are covering all aspects of the project. They will be the principal negotiator for the tendering process and will deal with all scopes of work for the respective subcontractors. They will identify and construction quality issues during site inspections and lead the construction management team to address and resolve any issues immediately. Finally, they will lead a team to assist with permitting and all pre-construction preparations.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful Senior Project Director will have a minimum of 15 years experience in site management, people management and project management of High-Rise condominium construction projects in Ontario. They will demonstrate a strong passion for building, leading and enhancing the competitiveness of the engineering team and be able to develop a good relationship with the construction manager and trades as required. They will be well-versed in costs and construction techniques, providing recommendations during the design phase, and they will be able to lead a time through the pre-construction process. Finally, they will be honest, ethical and maintain fairness and justice, upholding company principles and adhering to safety parameters. They will be an effective communicator and able to openly speak with team members, colleagues, senior management, trades and external consultants.
What you'll get in return
The Senior Project Director will receive a base salary from $200K to $300k dependent on experience. They will receive a project milestone bonus and completion bonus as well as benefits, vacation, computer/phone allowance and fuel.
