Role Description

As a Controls Engineer - Automation, you will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks involved in developing and maintaining control systems for our automation projects. This is a full-time on-site role located in Tecumseh, ON. Your duties will include managing suppliers of control systems, assisting in the designing and implementing control systems, conducting system testing and troubleshooting, programming PLCs and HMIs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of control systems into our automation solutions.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
  • Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in HMI development and SCADA systems
  • Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus)
  • Familiarity with robotics and motion control systems
  • Experience in designing and implementing control loops and PID tuning
  • Understanding of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in the automation industry
