Title of Course

Compensation 

Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds. 

· Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $ per hour. 

· Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $ per hour. 

· In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant’s duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. 

Duties 

The duties and responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant shall be in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement. These are made up of scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (including preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as may be required.

Qualifications 

•Must have completed MBAB5P11 or ITIS 4P21 with a minimum of 80% overall course grade. 

•Must have knowledge of MS-office applications, particularly: MS-EXCEL AND MS-ACCESS.
•Must have knowledge of the data mining software - WEKA
•Must have knowledge of SAS-enterprise miner software and application.

•Must be familiar with the basic functions of Brightspace to guide students with the uploading and/or downloading of files related to lab practices, assignments and lab tests.

•Excellent English Language Skills.
•Previous TA experience would be an asset.
•Academic Integrity and Professionalism.
•Proven track record of working effectively and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.
