Project Coordinator – Estimator

Reporting to the Project Supervisor, the Project Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of project management. As well they are responsible for the supervision of all construction-related activities that take place on the worksite, ensuring the safe and effective operation of all activities.
General Responsibilities:
Manage project startup, building permits, and the construction management process. Prepare tender processes, budgets, estimates, construction schedules, and monthly progress reports. Review and comment on shop drawings along with the design manager. Manage subcontractor site meetings, RFI’s, invoices, and the control document process. Verify the accuracy of change orders and ensure orders are signed by clients. Ensure that all contractual issues are resolved and dealt with in a timely manner. Finalize all sub-trade contractual issues. Establish a project plan for each approved project, defining the project goals, objectives, risks, assumptions, staffing levels, roles, and responsibilities. Conduct cost-benefit analysis, risk assessments, and ROI calculations to determine project feasibility. Track all project costs to ensure completion within budget; procure extra budget funding where necessary. Manage project discrepancy. Authorize/approve all project personal transactions, purchase requests, etc.Communication:
Be the primary liaison with site superintendents and subcontractors. Provide construction direction and oversight to a project team comprised of designers, estimators, and PCs. Coordinate site superintendents and project workforce needs with the general superintendent. Provide recommendations to clients on all bid summaries. Maintain rapport with clients. Conduct stakeholder meetings and forums in order to solicit feedback, input, and expectations. Interface with client representatives, architect representatives, subcontractors, security, etc.Leadership:
Organize project teams into suitable work groups and guide the team throughout their efforts to produce deliverables. Identify and resolve conflict within the project teams and associate work; create contingency plans to mitigate risk. Provide direction to planning, scheduling, and engineering functions as required. ,

Qualifications & Experience
Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology. CET Designation will be an asset. Experience with InEight Estimate will be considered an asset. Willingness to work to your Gold Seal Certification in Estimating. Strong management, delegation, planning, and leadership skills. Strong knowledge of local, provincial, and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances, and legislation. Effective negotiation, diplomatic, and conflict resolution skills. Possess a valid driver’s license. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite. (Word, Excel, etc.) and email. Knowledge of InEight Estimate is considered an asset. Experience with an ERP system, ViewPoint Software is considered an asset. Occasional travel out of town as needed.Note: We promote a safe work environment with a substance testing program.
