Purchasing and Materials Analyst
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Purchasing, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordination of activities within the Purchasing Department in support of both Current Production and New Product Development sections. As required, the successful candidate will act as a purchasing point of contact for ongoing and special projects within the organization.

Key Accountabilities
Communicate with Vendors and Material Coordinators to confirm engineering change dates and delivery requirements and timing to production. Determine the cut-in dates for materials from engineering changes based on current inventory levels and supplier lead-times. Coordinates the release of inventory to the production lines in line with implementation dates from PPAP to SOP. Work with Materials and Purchasing Supervision to expedite material requirements when required. Coordination of transportation and vendor releases to assure the timely delivery of materials and to minimize freight costs. Coordinate Materials related activities for Engineering Change Notices; Approvals, selecting run dates & assisting with implementation for all current production ECO’s Champion the incoming PPAP requirements; working with the buyers and warehouse personal to control the material movement. Quarantine and removal of inventory as per QA approvals and implementation dates out of PPAP quarantine. Manage existing materials flow for PDP Responsible for all materials movement, including inter-plant transfers, from dock to R&D for use in the prototype build process Co-ordinates all in-house rework with operations and R&D Co-ordinates with operations, plant managers and forecasting team relative to obsolescence and slow moving inventory identification and disposition Perform regular audits to ensure right materials, dates for delivery and manu-X data is correct and reports out to relevant groups Co-ordinates with production launches to ensure materials and data is correct Works with PDP Manufacturing Engineers to ensure materials and data is correct Works with PDP projects as participating team member and manages a variety of projects as needed Schedules and leads all meetings related to materials for PDP Co-ordinates and assist with production line setup Co-ordinates and assist with part kitting for Mule, Prototype, and Pre-Production builds Perform other tasks/projects as assigned.Minimum Requirements
Minimum two years production planning and inventory management experience in a manufacturing environment. Post secondary education, Materials Management Diploma or related experience. APICS Certification in production and Inventory an asset Ability to work with a partner and independently as needed. Use a team approach to get materials ready so that they may be moved out efficiently. Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills Clear and effective oral and written communication skills Ability to prioritize and multi-task in order to meet multiple deadlines Proficient in MRP Software & Microsoft Office-based software with an emphasis on Excel Comfortable with responsibility and accountability Positive attitude that champions change Ability to maintain the confidentiality of all company informationDesired Characteristics
Flexible/Adaptable to ever-changing priorities. Basic knowledge and experience with contract development and negotiations Ability to compare costs of purchasing options which differ in prices, discounts, rebates, shipping charges, customs fees and currency exchange rates. Ability to calculate year-to-date sales, average inventory levels, inventory turnover rates and order fill rates to diagnose purchasing and distribution problems. Ability to communicate with co-workers, customers and suppliers about operational matters. Ability to judge the quality of products and quality of service provided by suppliers. Ability to work independently, but also work in teams with co-workers AS400/ IFS / MRP experience.
