What you’ll do:

Be accountable for the financial and operational success of the Deli department. Lead and direct the Deli team in areas of people management, financial performance, market growth, sustainability, and operational efficiency. Drive business growth and maintain a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Plan, organize, and implement department initiatives, ensuring smooth operations and high standards. Build and maintain strong relationships with external customers, member-owners, team members, and other leaders. Ensure all administrative and reporting tasks are completed accurately and on time. Actively engage on the sales floor, leading by example to maintain a productive, positive work environment and deliver outstanding customer experiences. Manage Deli team performance, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Lead and model safe food handling practices, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Contribute to the department’s safety culture and promote a positive, safety-conscious environment. Demonstrate day-to-day behaviors that align with the Co-op’s vision, mission, and values. Be available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays on a rotational basis. Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the Food Store Manager.

Who you are: 

You have previous management experience, preferably in a food retail setting. You’re proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. You’re flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays. You’re customer-focused, action-oriented, and able to work effectively with team members and leaders. You’re honest, trustworthy, and results-driven, always striving to be the best in what you do. You believe in building strong relationships and working collaboratively to achieve goals. You’re physically capable of standing for the length of a shift and lifting up to 50 lbs.
