pursuit?

The IT Engineer is a key member of our extremely collaborative information technology team. Our colleagues whom we support count on us for prompt and reliable technology design and support across our locations in Canada, Iceland, and the USA. The IT Engineer troubleshoots problems in a timely and accurate fashion to completion or escalates to the next tier of support. Work is performed with little supervision and requires initiative and judgement

What is the compensation for this role?

If based in Denver, the salary range for this role is $80,000/year to $100,000/year based on experience and skill set. This role is eligible for a yearly 10% bonus. If located in Montana or Alaska, the salary range may vary based on the local labor market.

What will you do in this job?

Server Administration and Maintenance

Build, deploy and administer Pursuit’s Microsoft Windows Servers, Azure hosted servers and resources, VMWare, and Hyper-V environment. Perform regular software patch deployments to servers including monthly Microsoft Operating System patches and other server software patches as needed using the ManageEngine Endpoint Central tool. Support Microsoft Windows Server based file sharing, Azure Files and centralized print server environments Maintain information security by supporting tools on servers to monitor security events and manage server software vulnerabilities. Provides proactive monitoring of the server environment using the standard Pursuit Collection of tools and other performance and capacity management tools as required. Managing single sign on via Microsoft Azure Entra ID. 

 
Microsoft Environment Support 

Support Pursuits Microsoft environment including Active Directory (Group Policy Objects and MEM), Microsoft Office 365 (Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint)

Technical Support and Training:

Assist staff with technical support of desktop computers, applications, and related technology Work closely with Service Desk and has accountabilities to Tier 2-3 staff to determine direction and resolve problems received from clients Interact with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems Train and orient staff on use of hardware and software

On-call Support

Participates in an on-call rotation to ensure appropriate IT support

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

Required Experience

Four-year degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience 5 - 8 years’ experience managing Microsoft Windows Servers and desktops in a remote, multi-tiered environment 1-2 years managing servers and storage in cloud-based environments (Azure experience preferred)  Experience with the Metallic backup platform Experience in administration of the Microsoft Office 365 platform

Required Skills

Expert level of understanding with Microsoft Active Directory and associated technologies such as Group Policy Objects Proficient capability supporting Microsoft Windows Server based DHCP, DNS and Certificate Authority services Ability to author non-trivial documents with both text and graphical elements and using these documents to keep diverse types of operational teams and staff informed Excellent analytic and troubleshooting skills for problems that span multiple domains (applications, network, system, hardware) Organized, highly motivated individual that has excellent project and task management skills Self-starter and thought leader for the infrastructure department and is expected to bring ideas to the table for consideration Willingness to work with a geographically dispersed team in a seasonal environment. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Hospitality and service-focused mindset including the need to work successfully with both internal and external partners. Valid driver's license required Must have the ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs with assistance Up to 15% travel is possible for this role
