Job Title: Senior Project Manager - Construction
Location: Richmond, BC (Full-Time, On-Site)

Company Overview:

We are representing a dynamic and growing construction company specializing in the development and construction of low to mid-rise residential and commercial buildings in Richmond. As both a developer and builder, they manage their projects from concept to completion, ensuring high-quality standards and attention to detail at every stage.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in developer-led construction projects to oversee the management and execution of low to mid-rise developments. This is a full-time, in-office role based in Richmond, BC. The ideal candidate will have significant experience working with developers/builders, strong leadership abilities, and excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, consultants, trades, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all phases of the construction project lifecycle, from pre-construction through to post-completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure design alignment with project goals.
  • Manage the procurement of materials, trades, and suppliers, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budget.
  • Lead and mentor project teams, including junior project managers, coordinators, and site supervisors.
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with all building codes, regulations, and company policies.
  • Prepare and present regular project reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Foster strong relationships with municipal authorities, consultants, contractors, and other external partners.
  • Support the companies values of collaboration, transparency, and sustainability throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of project management experience in low to mid-rise residential/commercial construction, with a strong preference for candidates with a developer/builder background (as opposed to general contracting experience).
  • Bachelors degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field; PMP or equivalent certifications are a plus.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects concurrently, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and regulations specific to Vancouver.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and other relevant tools.
  • Exceptional leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Solution-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle the challenges of fast-paced construction environments.
