This role is based at our Wreck Cove Hydro Station, and you are required to be on-site for this role.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an Administrative Assistant IV (Term) to join our Hydro & Wind Operations team in a temporary position . Reporting to the Snr. Hydro Superintendent – Hydro & Wind you will provide administrative support to the Hydro & Wind Operations at our Wreck Cove Hydro Station.

As an Administrative Assistant IV:

You will prepare monthly reports and perform other general administrative support duties.  You will be responsible for interacting with staff, accountable for sorting mail, tracking/reporting/follow up on current programs and metrics, word processing, maintaining bulletin boards, organizing our safety program, filing, and ordering office supplies. You will process payroll entry, invoices, requisitions, and purchase orders.  You must possess initiative, an appreciation for confidentiality, a strong work ethic and a dedication to quality. You will be required to perform at a high level of competency and independence.

You will be responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.

You have a Grade XII education or equivalent, office administration training. A minimum of 3 – 5 years of administrative support experience. You have a good working knowledge of various software packages (i.e. Word, Excel, MS Project, Invoice Express and Oracle).  Accounting and/or knowledge of statistics would be a definite asset.  You have a thorough knowledge of current office procedures and have proficient typing and computer utilization skills. You must demonstrate your commitment to personal development. You have effective communication and organizational skills. You are a self-starter who has the willingness and ability to learn new processes and will become competent in the applications required for this position. You have strong analytical and quantitative skills and are attentive to detail. You are a team player and possess strong interpersonal skills.
