What Success Looks Like at Layfield

The Shop Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the Field tool crib, trucks, trailers and mobile equipment, construction equipment, safety supply room, and construction yard. The position also assists with training Field Staff on tools and tasks while complying with the companys quality and safety procedures.

How You Will Lead

Inspect and test ALL returned tools and equipment for damage, defects and wear. Repair, service, and lubricate tools and equipment including Demtech welders, leisters and generators. Assist with initial training of Field Staff on tools and tasks. Coordinate vehicle, mobile equipment and trailer maintenance. Enter tools, equipment and consumables into inventory control system. Issue and distribute parts and supplies for internal and external use. Delegate and oversee all Field Staff assigned to shop duties. Order and maintain consumables including safety and field supplies. Maintain records of inventory control system. Advise on appropriate use of tools and equipment. Maintain organization and inventory in all trailers. Assist with equipment repair program. Label tools and equipment using identification tags to maintain organization of all areas. Maintain cleanliness of all equipment and vehicle exterior to help sustain professional image. Ensures day-to-day work activities are well organized and on time. Performs daily housekeeping and maintains shop cleanliness. Ensure yearly calibration and certifications are kept current and arranged for service.

What We Look For

Experience with basic hand tools. Valid/Clean Drivers License. 1 3 years of relevant experience. Ability to understand and comply with all Company policies, including Layfields Drug & Alcohol policy, Harassment policy, Workplace Violence policy, etc. Ability to work, understand, and comply with all safety requirements & regulations listed in the Construction Safety Manual, OHS and/or Owner specific documentation while working on installation projects, driving to and from site locations and working in the shop. Ability to properly operate and maintain Layfield owned and leased equipment. Possesses working knowledge and experience with the majority of plastic fusion or welding related equipment, including operation, troubleshooting and repair. Possesses excellent analytical and verbal communication skills. Ability to perform tasks that require manual dexterity. Basic computer knowledge and skills. Demonstrated ability and knowledge of troubleshooting mechanical issues.

Salary Range:

$25.00 to $32.00 per hour, based on a 37.5 hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
