Tomlinson is currently seeking a Project Assistant to support and collaborate with the construction team to assist in day-to-day operations. This role is primarily administrative with frequent field work required. This position will be based at our head office in Ottawa, with travel to job sites in the Ottawa areas.

Location: Ottawa, ON

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Train and assist foremen with all aspects of program updates for new and existing software. Maintain and coordinate employee training. Register field staff to work in Quebec. Create & maintain weekly Crew Schedule. Assist with daily work records, time material sheets and equipment tracking. Assist with printing documentation and general information to be distributed to the team. Time entry for equipment and labour as required. Coordinate, attend and take minutes for meetings. Assist with payroll issues. Coordinate field vacation schedule. Tracks, records and reports attendance of all site personnel. Manage all permit requests and ensure they are up to date. Support the management team as required. Prepare documents for standard contract submittals and project setup.


W ORKING CONDITIONS:

Working in a standard office environment and construction sites. Adaptable to a flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Post-secondary education is preferred. MS Office experience. Strong communication skills, and ability to deal tactfully with employees, visitors and customers. Excellent organization and time management skills. A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation are required. Experience with SAP is considered an asset.
