About the Position

The Global Marketing team is looking for a Marketing Accounts Intern to join the Global Marketing Team. This is a temporary position which runs from approximately May to September 2024. Reporting to the Marketing Account Manager, Consumer, this position will work to execute all marketing and communications functions related to this portfolio.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Adding Event Listings to ExploreEdmonton.Com
  • SEO optimization
  • Developing & updating landing pages for upcoming Consumer Marketing Campaigns
  • Developing a monthly social media content calendar promoting the Consumer portfolio in collaboration with the Social Media Engagement Specialist, across Explore Edmonton’s consumer social media channels
  • Collaborating with the Marketing Account Specialist, Business Development to identify opportunities & draft organic social media content for the Business Events, Consumer, and Sport & Culture portfolios, across Explore Edmonton’s corporate channels, in collaboration with the Strategic Communications Department
  • Contesting setup and management
  • Maintaining Asana boards and tasks for all Consumer Marketing Account Manager (MAM) campaigns
  • Developing project briefs & summaries
  • Creation of quarterly marketing updates
  • Working with the Brand & Design team to create & maintain the Consumer marketing partner brand toolkit
  • Conducting general market & competitor research and present findings to the Global Marketing Team
  • Invoice coding and tracking
  • Researching and applying for awards
  • Collecting imagery, copy, logos, etc. for various internal and external partners
  • Sending monthly newsletters
  • Other duties as required.

The successful candidates will have the following:

  • High school diploma required
  • Enrolled in post-secondary education in business (marketing), communications or related field.
  • Experience in marketing & communication is considered an asset
  • Pro-active with solid prioritization and organization skills
  • Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Sharepoint)
  • Solid, demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Demonstrated good judgment and professionalism
  • Displays leadership qualities
  • Proven ability to work independently and perform effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to work under pressure, with time-sensitive deadlines & competing priorities
  • Lifting and moving of equipment up to 50lbs
  • Available full-time (35 hours/week)
  • Knowledge of the City of Edmonton is considered an asset
  • Be available for work at home and in-person at the office work as required
