Position: Bakery Technician                 Reports to: Plant Manager Gluten Free Bakery

We are looking for an Bakery Technician to join our Gluten Freeteam Our Bakery Technician will be working closely with the Operations teams to support our existing product enhancement and commercialization efforts. This includes bake testing new and existing products or ingredients and preparing product samples for presentations.

You may work odd hours on occasion, including early morning shifts, to accommodate our customers and operational needs. There will be opportunities to grow your skills, learn our unique processes, and with time, develop into a subject matter expert

Knowledge & skills

  • You have strong working knowledge of traditional bakery ingredients and products
  • You understand bakery production principles, processes, and equipment
  • You have strong baking skills
  • You have solid computer skills including MS Office

Experience

  • You have prior experience in a commercial bakery or food production facility

Nice-to-Have

  • Product development and R&D experience
  • Lean Six-Sigma / Lean Manufacturing experience

  • Evaluate existing products to meet objectives
  • Formulate changes to the existing product mix to achieve product consistency
  • Coordinate and supervise production, during new product launches
  • Provide support to the production team with the product, process and people front
  • Maintain detailed and comprehensive records of all documents

  • May be required to work variable shifts on occasion
  • Plant operations run from Sun to Thu which will require this role to work varied shifts
