**POSITION**: R&D Technician REPORTS TO: Director, R&D
We are looking for an R&D Technician to join our R&D team Our R&D Technician will conduct the tests, manage lab inventory, maintain instruments records, support lab and plant trials, conduct shelf-life studies and so much more

- Flexible to work evenings and weekends to accommodate production testing, when necessary
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- You have proficiency in sensory evaluation techniques to assess the taste, texture, appearance, and overall quality of baked goods.
- You have experience with laboratory equipment and techniques for sample preparation, measurements, and analysis. Understand food microbiology principles, typical spoilage organisms, and control strategies
- You have excellent record-keeping skills to maintain accurate and detailed documentation of experiments, observations, and results.
- You have proficiency in preparing reports, summaries, and technical documentation to communicate research findings and recommendations.
EXPERIENCE
- At least 6 months of R&D and or QA experience in a food or phrama production facility
- You have a degree or diploma in food science, food technology or related
NICE-TO-HAVE
- Hands-on baking experience is a bonus
- Create and manage databases
**DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES**:
- Sample Testing and Evaluation
- Data Analysis and Evaluation
- Shelf Life Study
- Sensory Evaluation
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Order and manage inventory of lab supplies and reagents
- Create and manage databases for R&D team
- Prepare accurate and detailed reports, including test methods, results, observations, and recommendations
- Ability to lift 12 kg
- Other duties as assigned
- Flexible to work evenings and weekends to accommodate production testing, when necessary
