As the Workplace and Development Planning Coordinator, you will be responsible for all capital projects and internal projects related to design and development activities related to the Calgary Police Service (CPS) facilities. Primary duties include: Meet with internal and external business units, collaborators and clients to determine requirements and create concept designs, preliminary drawings, coordinate moves and relocations. Facilitate the coordination of all furniture and equipment orders necessary for project implementation and requests. Oversee and monitor furniture purchase budgets, Collaborate with the Facilities Occupancy Planner to address ergonomic requirements. Develop and draft Request for Proposals (RFP) for design services. Collaborate with Strategic Services Analysts for any Change Management process. Evaluate finalized projects through post-occupancy surveys, reports, correspondence via calls and emails, as well as on-site visits. Perform quarterly workspace audits and ensure the documentation and floor plans are up to date. Formulate strategic plans to optimize workspace efficiency by assessing rooms, storage areas, offices, workstations and common area utilization. Coordinate minor renovation projects across multiple districts and oversee space planning requests. Attend site meetings to gather requirements from end users and deliver comprehensive findings and recommendations. Obtain architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and redline drawings as needed for project execution. Qualifications  A Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, Business Management, Construction Management, Project Management, Facility Management, or a related field and a minimum of 3 years experience in commercial office space or space planning and design; OR A Degree or Applied Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Business Management, Construction Management, Project Management, Facility Management or a related field plus 3 years experience in commercial office space or space planning and design. Success in this position requires efficiency and thoroughness, impact and influence, planning and prioritizing/visionary and service orientation. An effective communicator with a focus on results and the ability to build strong relationships.
