Reporting to the Manager, Client Services, this position supports communications and digital/online content management in the Office of the Registrar (OTR), primarily for the New Student Enrolment (NSE) department. The incumbent is responsible for the editorial content, continuity, and timelines/coordination of OTR/New Student Enrolment departmental communications, the Application and Agent Portals and website. This includes the creation, operation, execution and auditing of all communications and digital content, for the new student funnel (prospects to fees paid), domestic and international, throughout multi-term cycles. The New Student Enrolment department leverages Salesforce, Marketing Cloud CRM, and Salesforce Community portals to communicate and engage with prospective students and applicants. As such, the incumbent will be responsible for engaging with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Salesforce Community environments in their daily work so should be proficient with these, or other comparable, CRM solutions. The Communication and Digital Content Coordinator also works in consultation with the OTR business owners and subject matter experts, as well as liaises with cross-college departments to create effective communications and digital content that supports the strategic goals of Sheridan and aligns with college policies and Brand/Marketing standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

Coordinating all digital projects and communications for OTR/New Student Enrolment (NSE), primarily through CRM, including campaign set-up, content and creative development, deployment, and analysis. Owning email deployment in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, from building, testing, and scheduling marketing emails and journeys, to ensure audience segmentation is accurate. Monitoring metrics and reporting on communication campaign effectiveness and designing ways to optimize communications based on those metrics (i.e. ways to improve open rate, deliverability, click rate, opt-out rate, conversion rate). Developing and updating content for the Application and Agent Salesforce Community portals. Acting as lead editor and publisher of prospective student digital content (i.e. website pages, myOTR, portals, etc,) and targeted communications from inception to execution with business owner approval; Developing content plans across mediums to maximize customer adoption and retention over time. Coding CRM communication population selection and send criteria using SQL, and creating communication templates in HTML; Overseeing and executing the planning, timeline, coordination and logistics of communications and digital content by managing and updating a NSE content calendar as a subset of the broader OTR content calendar; Collaborating with other communication roles in the OTR, the Division of Students and CPAM to understand their various roles and ensure consistent messaging and continuity across all in-person, print, and digital initiatives. Participating in special projects, as assigned, as a communications subject matter expert representing the OTR/New Student Enrolment department. Performing a rigorous level of quality assurance with a variety of teams to ensure campaigns are launched on time with an excellent level of quality. Other duties as assigned to support special projects and broader OTR communications and digital content.

As the successful candidate you will also meet the following qualifications:

4-year degree in English, Journalism, Publishing, Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Organizational Communications , or a related field along with 5-years practical experience in developing and implementing communication plans and materials (preferably in a postsecondary environment) is required, as well as, experience planning, coordinating, and tracking projects (equivalency will be considered).  Marketing Cloud certification/training is required Marketing Cloud experience (2 to 3 years) is required. Knowledge of communication deployment practices, email laws and regulations, data, analytics, audience segmentation, list management, dynamic content, testing methodologies, deliverability, etc. is considered an asset; Proven digital content strategy, content marketing, copywriting and editing experience, proof reading skills, and advanced knowledge of writing for the web, web editing, web portal coding and web content strategy development using Content Management Systems (CMS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (Salesforce and Marketing Cloud preferred) is required. Advanced knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and Marketing Automation/Email Platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud) preferably within a post secondary environment and relational data bases; Practical experience in writing, editing, and coordinating editorial production of corporate publications in a multiple project environment involving tight deadlines and production schedules. Experience with analytical tools and ability to obtain and report metrics to determine effectiveness of campaigns. Advanced knowledge of AODA compliance standards, CASL and FIPPA as well as advanced knowledge of HTML, SQL, CSS coding languages required. Familiarity with AmpScript is an asset; Proficient in operating a computer and related software packages (ie. Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, etc.). Working knowledge of a Student Information System (PeopleSoft) is considered an asset.  Experience in an office environment related to the coordination, creation, and implementation of communications and digital content throughout multi-terms cycles. Thorough understanding of existing and emerging social platforms, and social media management systems. Understanding of the post-secondary environment and enrolment management an asset. Experience in project management is considered an asset.  Knowledge of College policies and procedures, College style guides and graphic standards; layout and design is considered an asset.
