Position Rationale:

Supporting Volker Stevin Canada and its diverse group of related companies, The Administrative Assistant will contribute to the success of Mainline Construction (2014) Ltd. through the delivery of superior customer service, collaboration, and combined efforts of the entire Administrative Team. The Administrative Assistant position is the first point of contact for all called in inquiries as well as the administrative support to our team in Grande Prairie Alberta. This is a seasonal position from April to October.

Position Accountabilities:

Demonstrate a high level of reliability by being on time and understanding expectations assigned to the position of Administrative Assistant. Monitor mail, fax, and emails correspondences for distribution and response if required. Organize and distribute internal/external mail with external suppliers (Fed Ex). Answer, evaluate, and forward telephone calls to appropriate personnel. Assist with gathering fuel card data and receipts from field staff.

Event Planning:

Arrange staff functions within the Mainline Construction division. Organizing facility, equipment rentals, catering services, notices to attendees, , etc. for events, meetings, seminars, and other functions.

Customer Service:

Demonstrate a “can do”, “problem solving” approach to all inquiries and concerns. Manage the administrative workload by keeping team aware of any conflicting priorities. Knowledge of when to escalate an issue for immediate response. ,

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum completion of Grade 12 Education. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal, relationship and communication skills. Experience supporting a team of multiple Ability to operate office equipment (Teams phone, scanner/copier). Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams). Experience with ViewPoint ERP, or OpenInvoice, is preferred.
