Reporting to the VP Finance, the Corporate Accountant maintains the books and records of several non-dealership companies. In addition, and in collaboration with the VP Finance, this role will support the dealership Shared Services department.

What you will do:

Oversee the day-to-day financial accounting and operational aspects of the Myers non-dealership group of companies’, Lead month-end close including bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations and posting of month end adjustments and accruals, Maintain the accounting for new construction projects, Maintain a good relationship with the bank, external accountants, and Myers dealership personnel, Prepare monthly financial statements and annual operating budgets for assigned companies. Assist in the company’s year-end review with the external accountants, Responsible for tax compliance – monthly filing of HST returns for several non-dealership companies. Prepare daily cash report for the Myers group of companies, Reconcile monthly BMO Diners credit cards, Reconcile monthly executive gas cards, Assist in preparation of dealership intercompany invoices, Review and verify monthly dealership bank reconciliations. Assist in maintaining the Myers Cash Flow Model, Maintain the rent roll for the group, Maintain the property tax records for the group. Calculate and prepare year-end reconciliation statements for tenants based on actual costs. Monitor property-related accounts receivable and accounts payable, Other duties as required.

For this role, come equipped with:

A strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis. Proficiency with MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and QuickBooks – cloud based. Degree or Diploma in Accounting Working knowledge of federal, provincial and local tax compliance regulations and reporting. The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Project management experience would be considered an asset.
