Accounts Payable Specialist

Alterna Savings is seeking an experienced Intermediate Accounts Payable Representative to join our Finance Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the prompt and accurate processing and payment of vendor invoices and employee expense claims.
Key Responsibilities- Process and pay incoming vendor invoices and employee expense claims in a timely fashion.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and corporate policies.
- Act as liaison between suppliers and internal clients, responding to inquiries and resolving issues.
- Provide guidance and training to junior team members.
- Perform other related duties as delegated by the Manager, Finance Operations.
- University degree or college diploma in Accounting or 3 years equivalent experience in an Accounts Payable department.
- Strong general knowledge of Accounting, specifically as it relates to Accounts Payables and Accruals.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and Sage 300 (including AP and EFT modules).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
