Position: Sales Engineer for Southern Ontario

Location: Mississauga, ON

Employment type: Permanent, Full Time, Hybrid

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sales Engineer to join our team. This dynamic role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently. The Sales Engineer position will have a combined role of leading our product specification initiative with the consulting community and collaborating with our inside and outside sales teams to increase our success on project bids. This position will allow the flexibility to work from a home office when not dealing with clients directly.

Responsibilities

  • Call on key consultants and facility engineers, architects, and design-build professionals to win specifications for our manufacturers’ products.
  • Conduct and assist with product presentations and seminars related to products and initiatives from our manufacturers aimed at the engineering community.
  • Proactively research, prospect and target project opportunities, working closely with project engineers and contractors.
  • Use your technical expertise to demonstrate the value of our product synergy to the consulting community and key end users.
  • Work with our sales teams to assist with technical support as required.
  • Develop application tools which will assist with the specification of our manufacturers’ products.

 

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or proven experience as a sales engineer, technical sales representative, or similar role in the electrical industry.
  • Minimum of three years experience in the electrical industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills are essential.
  • Must be a team player with strong organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to read and understand architect and engineering plans is an asset.
