Are you an experienced market researcher with a strong network you can leverage, and think hunting for and winning new business is often the most rewarding part of your job? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you at Ipsos As our Vice President, Business Development, you'll not only help fuel our growth in Western Canada, but also map out our industry landscape in the region by staying current with emerging markets and trends. You'll be the key to strengthening our Ipsos community while also opening doors to new relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

In your mission to boost Ipsos’ growth, you will:

Engage in strategic pursuit of a new client prospect portfolio while expanding specific current client opportunities. Leverage your network to fortify relationships with customers, prospects, partners, and internal Ipsos Service Lines. Expand opportunities to new Service Lines within existing clients or penetrate new and lapsed prospects.  Drive internal collaboration to support sales efforts, particularly with the Service Line teams.  Proactively reach out to prospects in a planned way, coordinating fully with the rest of the Client Organization, Business Development Lead, and Marketing Director.  Track the sales process and report activity to the Business Development Lead.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

We are looking for an engaging Business Development Specialist who: Is driven by sincerity, honesty, and integrity. Appreciates the power of market research to help businesses, organizations and governments make faster, smarter, and bolder decisions.  Is experienced in business development for services (not software), with a track record of developing relationships with executives in marketing, research, consulting, advertising and/or media. Boasts strong business and financial acumen. Radiates enthusiasm for “hunting” and securing meetings or pitches. Is a networking wizard, always ready to foster relationships and expand their network, particularly those influencing marketing and research decisions. Can tailor their approach and tone to suit diverse audiences, showing adaptability and finesse. Is a masterful listener, adept at reading a room and understanding nuanced communication. Is engaging, with excellent presentation and communication skills.

This might be the job for you if you:

Are a successful Business Developer that can demonstrate either “high proficiency” or “expert” level skills in core areas such as: New Business Sales Experience: has a track record of building business in our industry, understands sales processes, and has proven success in new client acquisition. Strong Client Network: is connected to range of clients in our industry, with relationships that can be leveraged, particularly in Western Canada. Familiarity with Marketing Research: Would need to build knowledge of Ipsos and competitors’ offers in the context of how market research can answer business questions. Business and Commercial Acumen: can stand up with senior client professionals and have conversations re: how business works, able to empathize with client issues, and help them see our offer as a solution. Influence and Relationship-building: with both client prospects and internal colleagues in a respectful, positive, open, and productive manner; ability to collaborate in a matrixed environment.

If you don’t meet 100% of the requirements, we encourage all who feel they might be a fit for the opportunity to apply. We may consider a variety of backgrounds for a particular role and are also committed to considering candidates for available positions throughout our organization, not just the one you’re applying to

In accordance with local law, the estimated base salary range for this role is $145,000 to $155,000. Your final base salary will be determined based on several non-discriminatory factors which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.

What’s in it for you:

At Ipsos you’ll experience opportunities for Career Development, an exceptional benefits package (including generous PTO, healthcare plans, wellness benefits), a flexible workplace policy, and a strong collaborative culture.
