Position Overview:

This position performs asphalt-related repairs and maintenance of roads; performs concrete related repairs and maintenance of sidewalks, curbs, catch basins, and manholes; performs construction work related to sewer repairs, trails, sports fields, parks, and creeks.

Responsibilities:

Primary function is a Roads Maintainer on an assigned roads crew in the summer; and winter maintenance duties as assigned in the winter. Asphalt: Pre-trip Inspection, Road Repair, Utility Cuts, Crack Sealing, Pothole Repair, Infrared Repair, Asphalt Plant Concrete: Pre-trip Inspection, Sidewalks, Curbs & Gutters (new installations and repairs), manhole repair, catch basin repair, mud-jacking Construction: Community Trails/Sports fields/Courts, sewers Snow Removal: Drives single/dual axle dump truck (tandem) with plow, wing, a variety of salters, and anti-icing (., City streets, parking lots) to remove and haul snow, makes salt brine, operate sidewalk plow, shovel snow. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Grade 12 diploma or equivalent. Must possess a valid MTO DZ class driver's license in good standing. Demonstrated communication skills with an ability to keep accurate written records. Ability to participate as an effective team member. Must be available for winter call outs as required. Must be reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
