POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Marketing Manager (AMM) will assist the Marketing Manager in Category, Brand, Customer Marketing and Product Management for the AFH Canada categories. As an AMM, responsibilities may include brand operations, project management, Marketing budget management, customer programs, business analytics and business strategy. The AMM will focus on increasing sales and profits by developing content and launching a variety of sales and customer tools to drive profitable category growth. 

Category, Brand, and Product Management

Assist the Marketing Manager in developing and executing annual and 5-year business plans to increase overall profits for AFH Canada.Work collaboratively with the Marketing Manager in the product commercialization process (project management) from ideation to launch to ensure the effective management & execution of the product & packaging commercialization process.Utilize strong project management and communication skills to lead and motivate cross-functional teams (including R&D, sales, finance, regulatory, legal, and supply chain, outside marketing & insights agencies) to achieve business plans.Assist the Marketing Manager in initiating and applying key market insights to develop product innovations & renovations, product positioning, packaging solutions, sales & operator programs, and pricing.Leverage available research tools to gather and analyze data, as well as develop insights to help support marketing materials, business planning, and strategy.Assist the Marketing Manager in understanding the competition and the development of competitive positioning for our products.May be assigned additional non-focus products or categories to manage relationships with Manufacturing, Retail Marketing, Sales, and business partners.

Content and Tactic Development

Engage with agency partners to develop content to position our brands and products with customers via business to business (B2B) advertising and Sales materials. Work with Sales Support teams to manage and issue internal and external product and customer communication documents.Own the digital content for product categories and online digital platforms (AFH Website, Sharepoint, ShowPad, The Grove, GS1, Riversand)Work closely with AFH Sales team to create customer specific content and customer marketing activations. Manage marketing collateral development and coordinate fulfillment to support Sales team

Other Responsibilities

Manage and track assigned AFH Canada marketing budgetSupport industry events, Sales meetings, and customer meetings as requiredCoordinate Legal reviews, translation and sample requests.Work closely with retail partners to understand strategy, share insights, and plan as neededGather relevant industry insights and trends for both Customers and Consumers

QUALIFICATIONS:

University Degree/College Diploma (business/marketing preferred) or relevant experience. MBA is an asset.1-3 years of relevant work experience, Foodservice experience is an assetProven skills in presenting, project management and problem solvingExperience working with cross-functional teamsProven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and resource needsTakes initiative and demonstrates ability to work independentlyFrench language is an assetSome travel required - 3-4 times per year (Canada/US)
