The Job:

Adhere to all WSBC regulations and Cooperative safety procedures, including but not limited to: First Aid ProceduresWHMIS/GHS RegulationsPersonal Protective EquipmentLockout Procedures Adhere to all pertinent Food Safe procedures as required and detailed under the Food Safety program and your training. Other duties as assigned by Management within the context of: To load, unload, stack and move bins and pallets of finished product, packed fruit and supplies.To load and unload trucks and graders.Fill or empty bins and pallets of product and supplies from product lines, receiving sites and storage facilities.At times, nest bins and perform light bin repair duties.Safe and efficient operation of the lift truck at all times.Understanding the requirements of the job and maintaining records pertaining to the job.Anything received needs to be properly communicated to the appropriate personnel.May be required to work overtime as needed to cover production, shipping and receiving.Report any malfunctions of the equipment.Working closely with maintenance and supervisors.Will be required to cross-train in all locations within this specific classification.May be required to stack cartons by hand and lift 50lbs.Use computer systems to track bins and pallets.Able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather.May be required to work in other areas of the plant.Any other duties assigned within the nature of the job.

The Ideal Candidate: 

Adhere to all pertinent Food Safe procedures as required and detailed under the Food Safety program and your training. Be willing to submit to periodic proficiency testing as management deems necessary. To be certified to operate a forklift and to go through the onboarding process. May be required to go through the propane filling certification. Successfully complete the lift truck training program. Must be proficient in the use of a forklift. To go through re-certification every 3 years when the certification is set to expire. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with fellow employees and management. Be able to work with or without direct supervision, individually or part of a team. Organized and able to maintain and keep clear, accurate, and detailed records with legible handwriting. Must be proficient in using computers. Proven diligence in following all WSBC and Cooperative work safe policies and procedures. Be physically capable to perform all duties as required, including heavy labor and sustained strenuous physical activity. Be comfortable working with and around machinery in a team environment. Must be reliable and maintain above average attendance. Must be able to perform tasks to the required standards. Must be able to work all shifts, including AM / PM and weekends, 8 hour or 10 hour shifts, as required. May be required to work overtime depending on production needs. Have a valid driver’s license in good standing and provide an annual driver’s abstract. Have the aptitude to operate equipment, conduct a pre-trip check report any deficiencies to maintenance. Responsible for changing and filling batteries. Obtain level 1 first aid and WHMIS certification.
