We are looking for a Maintainer/Operator – Mechanical 2 (Pipefitter) to work in the Concentrator Maintenance department at the Iron Ore Company of Canada site in Labrador City, NL. The Pipefitter will ensure that maintenance activities are safely carried out to fixed plant, and associated assets, in a safe and efficient manner. The specific work schedule varies.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor you will be:

Participating actively in company safety systems and initiatives Demonstrating a safe work record resulting from a proactive approach to safety Contributing to improvement ideas and solutions in the workplace Diagnosing and repairing all types of rotating and conveying equipment Using power and hand equipment, performing varied types of rigging, often at heights which require climbing and the use of safety equipment , harness, lanyard, SRL’s, man-lifts, scissor-lift

Please note:  Fly-in-fly-out arrangements are not available.  Relocation assistance to Labrador West region is provided.

What you’ll bring

A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team; High school diploma or GED equivalent; Valid Class 5 driver’s license; Hold an Inter-provincial Steamfitter/Pipefitter certificate. Apprentices who have successfully completed 3rd/4th block apprenticeship will be considered. Experience in an industrial environment; previous mine maintenance experience consider an asset Self-starter, energetic, committed to achieving results Possess a highly flexible approach to work Team membership skills including the ability to work well in a team environment Experience with mobile rock crushers is an asset (for one of the departments)
