Job Summary

The Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) provides speech, language and swallowing services to acute, rehab or complex care patients under the supervision and guidance of the Speech-Language Pathologist, both in a one-on-one and group setting. The CDA will treat patients with a variety of conditions which may include frailty, tracheostomy, stroke and other neurological disorders.

Qualifications

•Completion of the Communicative Disorders Assistant Program
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Working knowledge of treatment techniques and implementation for the adult population
•Possess an attitude of respect and sensitivity towards clients with varied backgrounds, abilities and educational status
•Demonstrates superior problem solving skills
•Innovative and willing to learn
•Commitment to excellent customer service and collaborative Interprofessional teamwork

As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the Hospital’s Occupational Health and Safety department. Successful candidates will be required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination (two doses) from the Ontario Ministry of Health website or other authorized source directly to the Occupational Health and Safety department.
