The Team Lead of Transit Capital Projects will oversee a team responsible for managing the procurement, design and construction administration of transit capital projects including major projects that upgrade, replace and maintain Calgary Transit infrastructure in alignment with the Corporate Strategy and Divisional Goals. Primary duties include:  Provide leadership to project engineers and other staff members to ensure Calgary Transit capital projects are completed on time and within budget. Collaborate with other internal divisions and the Construction Coordination Committee in scheduling construction activities to minimize service disruptions. Partner with Infrastructure Services, Green Line, consultants, contractors and other external parties in the design, cost estimating, interested party relations, planning and construction project managementof Calgary Transit infrastructure projects, maintenance projects, other expansion projects and third-party development projects. Communicate with Calgary Transit managers, leaders, and team leads to ensure the operational and planning needs of their specific areas are met in the development of infrastructure. Address their concerns and make decisions that consider implications of the impact to operations. Develop, prioritize and manage capital project budgets. Develop short and long-range capital plans. Lead and participate in construction and planning meetings, attend and report on major capital project review meetings. Manage the administration of the LRT Design Guidelines Manual and associated documents. Write, review and approve updates to the manual. Qualifications  A degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering and at least 8 years of experience leading and managing engineering and construction projects obtained after receiving your P. Eng. Designation and a current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) complete with practicing status OR licensure and practicing status by the first day of work Click here for more details . Experience in project management for large infrastructure projects in a similar environment will be considered an asset.  Demonstrated political acumen through your understanding, navigation and culture of municipal government.  You can effectively manage resources to achieve results aligned with business goals and develop strategic direction and solutions to address current and future challenges.  You possess strong interested party engagement and management skills along with strong and effective communication skills. Success in this position required collaboration, problem solving, decision-making, analytical and critical thinking and negotiation skills.
