As an Intermediate Accountant with a focus on tax, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our clients' tax obligations are met efficiently and accurately. You will work closely with our senior accountants and tax specialists, contributing to the preparation and review of various tax filings, providing tax planning advice, and assisting in the resolution of tax-related issues.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review corporate, personal, and trust tax returns.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax provisions and financial statements.
  • Conduct tax research and stay updated on current tax laws and regulations.
  • Provide tax planning and advisory services to clients.
  • Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information and documentation for tax filings.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax compliance reports and other required documentation.
  • Support the senior tax team in audits and liaise with tax authorities as needed.
  • Analyze financial information to identify potential tax-saving opportunities.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of tax processes and procedures.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior accounting staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation or working towards it.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting with a focus on tax.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and tax preparation tools (e.g., QuickBooks, TaxPrep).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in public accounting or a similar professional services environment.
  • Knowledge of international tax regulations and cross-border tax issues.
  • Familiarity with tax planning strategies for small to medium-sized businesses.



- AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

- Ability to multitask effectively

- Well-founded grasp of Microsoft Excel

- Account reconciliation experience desired

- Proven knowledge of Invoice Processing

- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience

- Data entry experience

- General familiarity with Annual Tax

- Billing experience

- Command of Accounts Payable (AP)

- Practical knowledge of HST

- Spreadsheet and ERP system experience recommended
