We are looking for an HSE Coordinator to join our team. This position is located at one of our busiest project sites in downtown Vancouver
As our HSE Coordinator you will:
Advise and ensure compliance of the safety policies and programs for Plan Group Inc., our subcontractors and Constructors. Coordinate and provide safety training to workers at all levels (e.g. Fire Safety, WHMIS 2015, WAH, Lift Training, New Hire Orientation, etc.). Act as one of the primary contacts for health and safety related issues, requests, questions and concerns for the project. Advise employees, Supervision and Project Management regarding health and safety related information (e.g. OHSA, Regulations, Standards, Constructor Policies, etc.). Develop programs and procedures for new health and safety legislation or requirements. Coordinate site walk-throughs, review and follow up on any findings with the appropriate parties and follow up. Investigate near misses, unsafe conditions and incidents (serious or otherwise). Research new health and safety advancements (i.e. EWPs, Arc Flash gear, etc.) when needed. Assist in auditing safety programs and documentation, as well as track incident statistics to develop proactive control measures. Assist with WSIB claims and RTW programs. Take an active role in the internal and external safety committees. Coordinate and maintain all safety related information and documentation with the HSE Department. Work with worker HS Representatives and as well as communicate with safety personnel from other contractors/Prime Contractors as needed. Communicate with suppliers for new product advancements, product deliveries, WHMIS or other safety related information. Motivate employees to get involved with new policies and promote a positive health & safety culture.Our ideal candidate has:
Minimum of 1-2 years of safety experience in the construction industry. Graduate from health and safety or related program is an asset. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe. Willing to work on site in downtown Vancouver.
