As a Documentation Specialist in the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) Unit, you will determine which documentation received from courts, correctional facilities, Calgary Police Service (CPS) and outside police agencies require action for the federal CPIC system. Primary duties include

Analyze, enter, validate, modify, and remove records onto municipal, provincial and federal computer systems. Disseminate confidential information to facilitate law enforcement activity. Prepare Emergency Protection Orders, Restraining Orders, Court Release documents, Probation Orders, Firearm Prohibition, and Youth Sentences. Complete court updates, as required. Qualifications 

·A High School diploma or equivalency (, GED).

·A minimum of 1 year of related office experience in a policing or related environment (for example: court, criminal law environment).

·Previous experience and/or training related to CPIC, and/or JOIN, and/or ORCA is required.

·Must have experience with court documents and must be able to type a minimum of 50 words per minute (WPM).

·Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

·Success in this role requires a high attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment.

·You are a strong communicator, who works effectively in a team environment, and demonstrates professionalism when dealing with highly sensitive and confidential information.
