What’s the role?

As a Senior Member Service Representative , under general direction you are responsible for providing support to the membership, co-workers and branch management on a regular basis. Coastal Community Credit Union strives “to be the leaders in building relationships that improve financial health, enrich people’s lives and build healthier communities.” It is your responsibility as Senior Member Service Representative to carry the vision statement forward in order to build, maintain, attract and expand the member’s relationship with the credit union. You will provide friendly, professional service in an efficient, financially responsible manner.

Your duties will include:

Assist the management team with performing the daily operations of the branch as required Opening and closing the branch when required High level knowledge of policy and procedure Provide advice and assistance to employees as required Actively support the team environment by demonstrating an enthusiastic approach to and reinforcement of the sales culture Act as a positive resource and mentor for team members and lead by example Take responsibility for self-development and continuous learning to maintain and achieve the required knowledge for the position Duties will also include those already laid out in the existing MSR 2 job description. Will serve members and potential members as part of the daily and regular accountabilities of the MSR 2 position

Other duties would include:

Look for efficiencies, assist in reviewing processes to identify improvements, make recommendation to existing policies and procedures; Foster relationship building through service excellence and product knowledge

What are we looking for?

3 to 5 years financial experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Successfully completed CUIC 185 and/or CUIC 200, CCCU MSR II training, CCCU Senior MSR training Actively pursuing their CUIC Fellowship designation.

It is expected that you will be above average in all existing MSR 2 job duties identified in the current job description. As well you must have a clear understanding of the policies and procedures of the credit union.

Ideally, you are a flexible, collaborative team player with:

A working knowledge of credit union products, services, policies and procedures, the banking system and applicable legislation. Keyboarding skills of 40 wpm and computer terminology are required, in addition to proficiency with Windows products such as Outlook, Word, and Excel applications.  Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate in a clear, concise manner is required to transfer information and understanding to members, as well as to handle complex lending transactions.  Effective listening skills when engaging members in conversation to understand and identify their immediate financial needs, and provides resolution through sourcing information, matching an appropriate product/service and/or referring members to the appropriate individual to complete their request. The ability to multitask with above average keyboarding and internet/computer navigation skills for searching on-line client data and product information while simultaneously conversing with the member is essential to ensure that members receive excellent member service. Interviewing skills and the ability to ask probing questions are required, as well as having the flexibility to adapt to each request and move between a variety of member concerns/questions/requests without knowing the nature of the request prior to the conversation. You will also have the freedom to act, and although you must refer non-routine decisions to others, you work under broad direction rather than direct supervision. This position requires the use of some judgment in developing recommendations/decisions that could have an impact on credit union operations.

The wage ranges provided are based on the Union collective agreement. Full Time annual salary range based on 35 hour work week.

Full Time Role Range (Annual Salary) - $46,554.48 to $57,010.32
