The Instructional Design Specialist is primarily responsible for developing and designing interactive blended learning programs, multi-media and other tools that align with organizational training needs, requirements and/or processes.

Essential Details and Responsibilities

Design, develop and update proprietary training related to processes, products, and operations functions using a variety of authoring tools and methods to produce blended learning solutions for a range of workplace environments including store, distribution center and corporate office.Support the assessment and identification of training needs aligned with business objectives.Work with learning managers and team to confirm course specifications and resolves gaps.Ensure accessibility (AODA) compliance and course consistency per brand standards.Support learning projects with cross-functional teams to create engaging blended learning for all learners.Self-starter able to manage competing priorities and deliver projects in a fast-paced changing environment.Update job aids, facilitator guides, classroom slides, participant guides, and on-the-job training material.Maintain an understanding of the pet industry and demonstrate working knowledge of training best practices, trends and adult learning principles.

Experience, Education, Certifications

Bachelor’s degree2-5 years of proven work experience in instructional design and eLearning development.2+ years of experience using ADDIE to develop and implement training programs.Strong knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)Strong knowledge of course development software, such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Rise and EvolveExperience designing and editing with graphic media tools, video, audio animation/motion graphics and simulationsExperience building virtual instructor led sessions and classroom training materials an asset.Strong knowledge of current trends in training and adult learning.CTDP or equivalent is an asset.Bilingualism (French) is an asset.
