Geotechnical Engineer

Pinchin’s Richmond office is currently recruiting for a Geotechnical Engineer to support our Geotechnical Engineering Group in in the British Columbia Region.

A Day in the life of a Geotechnical Project Manager at Pinchin:

Perform Geotechnical engineering evaluations (e.g. Soil and bedrock engineering design, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, excavation, dewatering and shoring.) Scheduling assessments and meetings with clients/contractors Assigning work to field staff as appropriate depending on workloads and in conjunction with the other Senior Managers Preparing contract documents, proposals, and reports Providing clients with advice on appropriate regulations and guidelines Meet with clients to determine project requirements Business development and marketing to new and existing clients

What you bring to the Pinchin team:

University degree in Geotechnical, Civil or Geological Engineering or related degree and experience 5 to 10 years’ experience in a geotechnical engineering role A Professional Engineering Designation in British Columbia or be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia Able to work closely with our project teams across the company where geotechnical support may be of assistance, such as Environmental Due Diligence and Remediation and Building Sciences Prior experience in consulting engineering or construction is considered an asset The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from staff, clients and managers Proven technical writing skills for preparing geotechnical engineering reports and letters for clientele Valid driver’s license insurance & personal vehicle is required (work-related travel expenses will be compensated)
