TheCollingwood G&M Hospital Foundation inspires the communities of South Georgian Bay to invest in the facilities,equipment, programs and services for the Collingwood General & MarineHospital. With 90% of all the Equipment and Technology at the G&M Hospitalfunded by community support, the Foundation successfully carries out many largefundraising initiatives to fund the hospital’s most critical needs. JobOverview:

The Collingwood HospitalFoundation is seeking a full-time Development Assistant to join its team. Inthis role, you will be responsible for assisting the Director, Operations &Communications and Annual Giving Coordinator in the day-to-day communicationsincluding e-newsletters, website updates, social media management and contentdevelopment. You will also support the Director of Philanthropy and President& CEO in campaign communications.

We’re looking for someone who is motivated, passionate abouthealthcare, and able to continue to amplify our voice and tell our story in thecommunity.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a DevelopmentAssistant, you will establish and grow our community of support while keepingour donors informed of their impact by:

Communicating our message of impact andgratitude to engage our audience of donors and donor prospects. Creating and publishing 3-4 posts a week onour social media channels including gathering content, imagery, and video. Assisting the AG Coordinator and Director,Operations & Communications on the monthly e-newsletter. Acting as the first point of contact for allinquiries about community fundraising events. Working with volunteer fundraisers to ensuretheir events are well run and financially successful Attending and assisting at events as directed. Assisting in preparing donor proposals. Assisting in special projects as assigned bythe President & CEO.

Qualifications:

Minimum secondary school diploma At least 3 years’ experience in office setting Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a customerservice position Excellent communications skills Positive, outgoing, and welcoming personality Task-oriented with good time management andorganizational skills Empathetic team player who believes deeply inthe CGMHF mission & vision

Required Experience/Skills

Experiencein the marketing/communications industry Experience in a non-profit organization wouldbe a benefit, but not a requirement Abilityto form relationships across the organization – particularly with healthcarestaff and third-party fundraisers Abilityto distill complex subject matter like hospital equipment or technology intodigestible, easy-to-understand content for our donors Positive,persuasive communicator

Familiaritywith Wordpress, Meta, Asana, and Blackbaud Graphic design skills and experience withInDesign or Canva Interest in or passion for healthcare

WorkEnvironment

The Development Assistant will work mainly inthe CGMHF office but will be required to be off site for events. Hours will be weekdays however after hours andweekend work will be required to support community fundraisers. Total hours worked shall not exceedforty-eight (48) in any one week. Hours will be flexed in coordination with theDirector, Operations & Communications.

Rate of pay: $45,600 to $49,400 per annum

Adheresto Occupational Health & Safety Policy as follows:
a) works in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Healthand Safety Act and the regulations;
b) uses or wears the equipment, protective devices, or clothing that the worker’semployer requires to be used or worn;
c) reports to their supervisor the absence of or defect in any equipment orprotective device of which the worker is aware and which may endangerthemselves or another worker; and
d) reports to their supervisor any contravention of the Occupational Health andSafety Act or the regulations or the existence of any hazard of which he/sheknows;
e) maintains up to date vaccinations as required by CGMH.
