VISA 1P93 Introduction to Drawing
Fundamental principles of drawing. Analytic, creative and graphic notation.
Lectures, studio work, 5 hours per week.
Delivery Method: face-to-face
Schedule: Section 1 Wednesday 0900-1500
Compensation
Effective September 1, 2024 - $7, per half course (195 hours nominally)
Effective September 1, 2024 - $14, per full course (390 hours nominally)
Please note: Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.
Duties
Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).
Qualifications
1. MFA is required.
2. Previous teaching experience of at least 2 years at the university level is required.
3. Knowledgeable with all instructional approaches to drawing from historical and contemporary applications including figurative, gestural and conceptual approaches, experienced instructing from the live model and knowledge of current theoretical trends required.
4. A record of professional activity and exhibitions with a focus on drawing demonstrative of standing in the arts community required.
5. Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level; and in the area to be taught are required by providing copies of recent teaching course/performance evaluations.
