We are seeking a Senior Director, Talent, Culture & Organisational Development to join our Ontario Human Resources team. Reporting to the Head of People.

This role is responsible for leading the implementation of new talent programs and models; delivering against our core talent processes (e.g., performance management, succession tracking, and total compensation) with a lens of continuous improvement; and monitoring the talent health and providing strategic advice to enhance organizational effectiveness.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement.

Primary Responsibilities:

Leverage capabilities to coach and counsel business leaders on organizational design, recruitment, and professional development. Build and foster partnerships with the program leaders (e.g., Senior Director of Paraprofessionals and Senior Director of Professional Resources), your peers and internal clients (executives and other leaders). Drive the growth of our top talent by ensuring they are identified and have robust development plans to support their professional and career objectives. Oversee the recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring the firm attracts top business talent. Develop and implement effective strategies for sourcing, interviewing, and selecting qualified candidates. Work closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and forecast future talent requirements. Assist in Performance Management implementation - performance assessment and development process, including assisting leadership to prepare for annual career conversations and ongoing feedback. Create and manage plans for underperformers to support course correction and performance improvement. Direct and lead internal clients through the annual compensation cycles (year-end) from market data analysis through compensation administration and communication. Provide compensation expertise and advice as needed. Leverage digital tools and analytics to provide data-based insights in support of data-driven decision- making across the talent pool. Oversee the development and compliance of HR policies, benefits and HR procedures to reflect current legal standards and best practices. Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, job satisfaction, and retention. Managing and leading a medium sized team, including a senior manager.

Required Knowledge and Experience

Labour and employment law experience or master’s degree preferred. 12-18 years of progressive HR/business experience, with a focus on generalist support, performance management, organisational effectiveness and program management. 5+ years of leading/managing a team. Law firm or professional services firm experience preferred. Proven track record of designing and implementing successful talent development programs. Strong understanding of the legal profession and the unique challenges faced by law firms. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with executives, senior directors, employee resource groups, managing partners, partners, practice group leaders, and other stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate strategy into actionable plans. Relevant certifications in talent development or organizational development are a plus.
