The Opportunity:

This is an exciting time to join our Junior School as the Innovation and Technology Coordinator. As a key member of the team, the Innovation and Technology Coordinator will inspire and facilitate curriculum design that integrates and promotes an innovation and technology mindset throughout the PYP inquiry-based program. Leveraging technology integration across all platforms and devices used within the Junior School will be instrumental in supporting both staff and students. 

A role model with strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to inspire creativity and influence change, the Coordinator will report to the Head of the Junior School and work closely with the Chief Innovation Officer. The Innovation and Technology Coordinator will foster an environment and community of innovators with a curious mindset and digital citizenship.

As a member of faculty, the successful candidate will support faculty in building capacity to teach technology skills and computational thinking and educate parents on topics in the technology and innovation space. As a skilled communicator, service oriented individual, and a problem solver, you are passionate about girls' education while leveraging technology in an effort to spark curiosity and innovation. You enjoy being part of a community, value inclusiveness and have a growth mindset.

This is a full-time position that follows the academic calendar. 

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution with the relevant specialists in Computer Science, Engineering, or other relative program of study;

Ontario College of Teachers certification, or equivalent, is preferred;

Minimum three years’ teaching experience preferred;

Experience in Makerspace or STEAM is a strong asset;

Experience in and knowledge of IB Primary Year Programs or as a member of the IB Educator Network (IBEN) is a strong asset;

Experience with Google for Education Certified innovator and/or Trainer and Apple Distinguished Educator is an asset;

A relational educator who incorporates Social-Emotional Learning and emotional coaching strategies in their practice;

Experience and/or commitment to incorporating DEI principles into curriculum development and teaching practice;

Adept at leveraging technology to deliver education program and correspond with students, parents, colleagues and the community at large;

Belief in and alignment to Branksome Hall’s mission, vision and values: 

Passionate about teaching and being in service of students and the community; 

Ability to work both independently with little direct supervision as well as be a collaborative team member.
