Work Hour: we are looking for full-time Day Shift Rail Loaders to join our production team and those who are available for both shifts :

Tuesday to Saturday 7: – 3: style="font-size: pt;"> Sunday to Thursday 7: – 3: style="margin-bottom: 0in;">

Wallenius Wilhelmsen (WW) is a global shipping and logistics services company (+ years in business, 8,+ employees across countries). In Canada, WW operates one of Canada’s premier vehicle processing terminals, employing + union and exempt staff.

As an unique Vancouver Fraser Port operator located on Annacis Island (Delta, BC), we receive, accessorize, and distribute new cars from nearly percent of all Asian-manufactured imports destined for the Canadian market and serve more than a dozen of the world’s top auto manufacturers such as Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Suzuki.



Responsibilities

Here is what an ordinary day of work might look like:

Perform duties to prepare railcars for shipment such as: opening and closing railcar doors, setting bridge plates, blowing trash out of railcars, chocking vehicles, chock replacement. Load and unload vehicles onto railcars in compliance with company quality standards. Ensure vehicles are spotted according to customer standards within the rail car. Ensure vehicles are properly spaced within the rail and secure vehicles according to customer standards onto outbound railcars. May be required to perform repairs or maintenance on safety equipment and rail cars. Perform maintenance on buck loader/ramps: including but not limited to lubing the railcars, graphite door tracks, and other moving mechanical parts, etc. Perform monthly inspections on bridge plates and paint bridge plates as needed. Perform other tasks necessary to maintain the rail yard, such as, picking-up trash, and broken chocks. etc.

Qualifications

This job is for you if you:

Minimum Grade educationHave a valid BC Class 5 (Not L/N) driver's license (a MUST) and a good driving record which can be obtained from ICBC. Be able to proficiently drive vehicles with manual AND automatic transmissions.Physical requirements: frequent walking, bending, reaching, crouching, balancing, and climbing ladders (at heights of feet), pushing, pulling, and lifting (up to lbs.); also requires periods in confined spaces with low lightPrevious experiences in construction, roofing, landscaping, warehouse, truck delivery preferred Work is primarily outdoors in all types of weatherAble to meet production goals, commitment to quality and safe work practicesAble to listen, comprehend and take direction wellAble to work both independently and as part of a teamPositive, "can-do" attitude and strong communication skillsDependable and punctual – excellent references required
