Reporting to the Manager, Cardiac Cath Lab, you will beresponsible for providing quality nursing care to patients

including complex patient populations whose outcomes are notpredictable. As part of a multidisciplinary health care

team, you will practice within the Professional Standardsof the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Philosophy of

patient and family centered care, mission vision, values and thepolicies of Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences

Centre. The Cardiac Cathlab provides acute cardiac care anddiagnostic services for Northwestern Ontario residents.

Services include: diagnostic catheterizations, coronaryangioplasty (PCI), intra aortic Balloon Pump insertions,

permanent pacemaker omplantations, elective cardioversions,pericardiocentesis and transeophageal

echocardiograms.

Applicants must have the following qualifications:

* Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with theCollege of Nurses of Ontario, or the ability to

become licensed with the College of Nurses of Ontario

* Current certification in BCLS

* Recent experience in Cardiac Catheterization or Critical CareNursing with significant experience in the care of

complex patient populations, including, but not limited to: PCI(angioplasty) experience (or scrub/circulate for 500

cases during this period), advanced Hemodynamic Monitoringcalculations during procedures, care and education of

the cardiac patient pre procedure(s), post procedures rhythmmonitoring and arterial Line monitoring and

management

* Ability to use the Nursing Process (assessment, planning,implementation, evaluation) in conjunction with her/his

basic and ongoing knowledge to arrive at individualized careplanning and delivery

* Identify and recognize abnormal or unexpected patient responsesand take appropriate action

* Ability to simultaneously manage multiple nursing interventions

* Strong interprofessional and communication skills

* Central Venous Line Management

* Lead II Arrhythmia Interpretation Program

In addition to the above qualifications, preference will be givento applicants who:

* Have a IABP Nursing Certification

Ability to participate in on‑call duties with a responsetime of less than 20 minutes is required for this position.

Incumbents will need to be comfortable working in a diagnosticradiation area and have the physical ability to work in

the appropriate safety apparel (lead aprons, collars, glasses).

Salary Range: $39.070 to 56.000
