Reporting to the Manager ‑ Nursing Resource Team, with amatrix to the Medical Unit Managers, as a member of the

Nursing Resource Team you will be responsible for providingquality nursing care to patients including complex

patient populations whose outcomes are not predictable. As part ofa multidisciplinary health care team, you will

practice within the Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario,the Philosophy and Values of Thunder Bay

Regional Health Science Centre and the policies of the Hospital.

As a member of the Nursing Resource Team, you will be part of adynamic team of highly skilled and knowledgeable

Nurses who provide patient care. The Nursing Resource Team is anopportunity for Nurses to acquire and maintain

competencies in varied patient care areas. This assignment isdirected to the Medical units however the nurse may

be scheduled to work on other units as needed. Nursing ResourceTeam Nurses are scheduled in accordance with

the ONA Collective Agreement.

Applicants must have the following qualifications:

* Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College ofNurses of Ontario

* Current certification in BCLS

* Previous experience on a medical unit preferred.

In addition, applicants must have current skill and experience inthe following elements of nursing practice:

* Physical Assessment

* Intravenous Therapy and Intravenous Initiation

* Central Venous Line/PICC Line Management

* Peripheral Venous Lines Management

* Aseptic Technique

* Body Substance Precautions and Infection Control Practices

* Sound documentation practices that include Meditechdocumentation

* Patient and family teaching

* Proven superior organizational, interpersonal and communicationskills and collaboration within a multidisciplinary

team are a must.

* Ability to work in collaborative practice with a RegisteredPractical Nurse

Salary Range: $39.070 to 56.000
