Staff Accountant

FULL TIME – ST. CATHARINES, ONTARIO


InterAtlas is currently seeking a General Accountant to join our team. Reporting to the CFO and Controller, in this role you will be responsible for full-cycle accounting for our Chemical Division.

InterAtlas Chemical is an international trading and distribution company of intermediate chemicals used in various manufacturing processes. We source material from vendors across the globe for our North American based customers. Our annual import volume of 1500+ containers is supported by our 65 employees; yet we are an assertive office with big ambitions.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Invoicing and Accounts Receivable
  • Accounts Payable and vendor relationships
  • Journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, inventory subledger review
  • Month-end responsibilities including Trial Balance through to preparation of P&L
  • Assist in performance analysis for the period
  • Additional financial projects or tasks, as required

QUALIFICATIONS THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO US:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a General Accountant role, or similar
  • Experience with QuickBooks is nice to have, but not necessary if you have experience in other or similar ERP systems
  • Solid Excel knowledge and experience, creating spreadsheets using Vlookups, SUMIF, and similar functions
  • A post-secondary education, focused on Business Administration & Accounting

  • Ability to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to prepare, read and interpret written reports, correspondence, and instructions
  • Effectively written or oral communication with management and staff, suppliers, and customers
  • Understand and maintain high level standards of confidentiality and use discretion and tact
